The CFR integrates Sacred Circle processes into both its pedagogical approach and its broader institutional practice. At Duke Divinity School, the CFR convenes circles that provide opportunities for listening, reflection, and offering and receiving support. These Sacred Circles function as intentional story-telling encounters. They are not a typical meeting or a debate; they are organic, respectful, non-performative conversations that flow thanks to the use of a talking piece. Participants come to listen to one another as they share the gift of their presence and undivided attention.
