The Divinity School offers coursework in the field of nonprofit management to support students’ vocational formation and leadership development.
The Certificate in Nonprofit Management, delivered through a two-course sequence at Duke Divinity School, provides a theological framework for nonprofit management in tandem with expert instruction from established practitioners and scholars from a variety of disciplines within the nonprofit sector. The certificate includes, but is not limited to, the following areas of nonprofit management: board development & governance, financial management, fundraising, marketing & communications, understanding communities & contexts, planning & evaluation, human resource management, and leadership.
Students can earn this certificate as part of the M.Div. (residential or hybrid), M.T.S., or M.A. in Christian Practice programs.
