What is a hybrid online degree or certificate program?
Our hybrid online degree and certificate programs combine the best of both worlds: online classes that make it possible to attend Duke without moving or leaving your current work, and three visits to campus each year—in January, May, and August. These one-week, in-person intensives give you the opportunity to build community, participate in campus activities, and network and worship in person with classmates and faculty.
Our online learning is designed to create community in a flexible way by combining scheduled live online classes using Zoom and self-paced learning so that you can remain in ministry or working full-time while also engaging in rigorous theological reflection and scholarship.
Scholarship Support
All students in our hybrid online degree and certificate programs receive scholarship support covering between 25% and 100% of tuition. Applicants are automatically considered for scholarships, and no separate application is needed.
Study with Top Faculty
A defining feature of our hybrid online classes is that you are immersed in world-class theological inquiry with a strong divinity school faculty whose members are engaged in scholarship as well as service to the church. The full-time faculty you’ll study with include the same renowned professors who teach in our residential programs.
