"I have attended Fellows and Friends gatherings almost every week for the past three years. This space has been a true gift. Amid the rigor of theological studies—lessons, papers, and deadlines—these gatherings have offered a sacred pause: a place where the classroom meets the lived realities of suffering, struggle, and hope. It's a space where ideas are not only shared, but enfleshed—where the call to be builders of peace takes shape in real time.
Here, I’ve found the compassionate companionship of colleagues who lift one another up and gently hold each other when the weight of the world feels too heavy. I’ve been held in the sacred tension of the Kingdom of God—already here, and not yet—and reminded that this tension is not a failure to be solved, but a calling to be embraced. We are loved. And from that love, we are empowered to build peace with courage and tenderness."
The Center for Reconciliation hosts a regular gathering immediately following Divinity Chapel each Thursday during the academic year called CFR Fellows & Friends. In this gathering, CFR staff hold space for prayer and reflection as an active practice of lament and hope within the ecumenical body of Christ in uncertain times.
Participants are invited to join in practices of prayer, fasting (as able), and intercession as we continue our journey (individually and collectively) toward God’s vision of reconciliation and transformation. CFR is committed to being a wounded, transfiguring space where the song of the new creation, the cry of lament, and the shout of liberation can be voiced, heard, and heeded.
