Duke Divinity School is committed to supporting a new generation of transformative leadership that mirrors and ministers to the changing demographic landscape in the U.S. and beyond.

All students admitted to the M.Div., M.T.S., M.A. in Christian Practice, D.Min., and Th.D. receive some scholarship support. In addition, there are special fellowship and scholarship opportunities that can increase the amount of support you receive.

In addition, each year the Baptist House scholarship committee awards a range of funds from both endowed and non-endowed sources. Students must be identified as “Baptist” in the Divinity School Registry and by the Baptist House to be eligible, and do not need to apply to be considered. First-year students must be matriculated. There may be additional requirements and criteria specific to each particular scholarship.

External Scholarships

FUNDING YOUR THEOLOGICAL EDUCATION

Each year, our students receive approximately $1.5 million in external support to offset the cost of their tuition and expenses. That’s in addition to the $6.66 million in institutional scholarship and grant support that Duke Divinity School awards to 99% of our students.

Field Education Internships

FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR M.DIV. PLACEMENTS

In addition to scholarships, residential M.Div. students are eligible for paid field education internships paying $10,000 per placement through the Office of Field Education. Students are required to complete two placements, and have opportunities for more.
