The Certificate in Baptist Studies is designed to serve the academic and formational requirements of residential or hybrid M.Div. students preparing for ministry—ordained and lay—in the Baptist tradition.
Interested students declare their interest to the Baptist House director and the Office of Academic Formation and are assigned a Baptist faculty advisor.
To receive the certificate, they must complete courses in Baptist Studies, and they have the opportunity to participate in a spiritual formation group that focuses on Baptist identity and formation.
In addition, students are encouraged to complete at least one field education placement in a Baptist setting.

"I love the courses and faculty. It has been so meaningful to have conversations with professors and other students who care about the same things I do."
Claire Dillashaw, M.Div. '24
