A Vibrant and Inclusive Community
For both residential and hybrid students, our student life is centered on a community of faithful learners who journey together, learn together, and support each other as they grow into their calling to serve the church, the academy, and the world.

One of the particular strengths of Duke Divinity School is the diversity of our community. Our students and faculty comes from many different backgrounds and more than 50 denominations. As we learn from each other, challenge one another, and grow together, our Christian witness and theological training is enriched and deepened, making us more effective in our ministries in a changing church.

Inspired and varied corporate worship is at the core of our life together, as we cultivate a life of prayer, study, discipleship, and service. But you'll also discover lectures and sermons from world-renowned Christian leaders, an array of passionate student interest groups, supportive ministerial preparation programs, houses of study that can serve as your spiritual and social base, and more.

"I came into Duke Divinity School unsure of what I was getting myself into. I applied because I was being obedient to what God was telling me to do. As I have walked through the past year and a half, I have been able to gain new insight into what it means to be a leader in the church. My mind has been expanded about what it means to hear and follow God. I have built community that I believe will be with me for the rest of my life, and I have gained confidence in my gifts and talents. Duke Divinity has given me new language for walking out my calling."
