The Institute of the Americas offers an opportunity for interdisciplinary theological and contextual formation around transformation and reconciliation. Through the application of the CFR’s methodology of the Word Made Flesh, the institute incorporates gender, human rights, restorative justice, and postcolonial perspectives.

Participants share en conjunto an intellectual, emotional, and spiritual journey that brings the theology of reconciliation into dialogue with voices from different academic disciplines.
The Center for Reconciliation at Duke Divinity School, in collaboration with its partner, the Americas Initiative for Transformation and Reconciliation (AITR), will hold its Fourth Institute of the Americas for Transformation and Reconciliation on the theme "Conflict Transformation in the Americas” from February through April 2024.
The institute session will take place via Zoom and will be conducted in Spanish. Contributions in English and Portuguese will be translated into Spanish. Registration is required.
Attendance at all institute sessions and completion of complementary assignments meet the requirements for the non-degree certificate program offered by AITR and the Center for Reconciliation at Duke Divinity School.
