Job Opportunity: Sunday Evening Teacher for Elementary aged Children Invest in Children in a small, non-traditional faith community in Durham Emmaus Way, a progressive Durham community church, is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and open-minded individual to work with children (K-5th) on Sunday nights, beginning in the summer of 2024 with a contract extending through spring of 2025.

An ideal candidate would: Have experience working with elementary children. Be excited to help children and youth ask faith questions, explore scripture, and engage in spiritual practices. Be open-minded, creative, and inclusive in their work with children. Be warm, approachable, and able to develop relationships with children. Be energetic and mobile to engage in activities with children. Be dependable in meeting responsibilities and communicative regarding their needs. Our worship gathering runs from 4:00-5:30 pm on Sunday nights.

The position requires approximately 3 hours of work per week: 2 hours on Sundays (3:45pm-5:45pm) and 1 hour of outside preparation of curriculum prior to Sunday. Compensation is $60/week.
