Addressing Inequities In Serious Illness Care For African Americans: A Matter Of Justice And A Call To Action For Faith Communities And Healthcare Systems
The Theology, Medicine, and Culture Initiative at Duke Divinity School is delighted to announce the 2023 Payne lecturer and award recipient, Dr. Kimberly S. Johnson, professor of medicine in geriatrics at Duke University School of Medicine.
Established in 2022, the Richard Payne Award and Lecture in Faith, Justice, and Health Care aims to highlight and honor academic, clinical, and lay leaders who embody Dr. Payne’s spirit of caring for the whole person in their work and research.
Dr. Johnson’s lecture, titled "Addressing Inequities in Serious Illness Care for African Americans: A Matter of Justice and A Call to Action for Faith Communities and Healthcare Systems," will be followed by an award reception at 7:30 p.m. in the Divinity Cafe.
