The Reverend Cathy Watson, M.Div. ’04, grew up the first of four children to Major Lewis Lynch, USAF Retired and Tuskegee Airman and Dr. Wallette Coles Lynch, a college professor. She earned a Bachelor of Science in education from Ohio State University and a Master of Divinity from Duke Divinity School. 

Watson serves as a board member of Durham Cares, Inc. and is the former director of student life at Duke Divinity School where she served diligently until her retirement in 2023. She was also the recipient of the 2019 Woman of Strength Award from the Duke University Women’s Center for outstanding strength through her work, community, and education.
