Bishop Sir Walter Lee Mack, Jr. serves as the pastor and teacher of Union Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, N.C. and leads Sir Walter Ministries, guiding organizations to cultivate environments of openness and understanding, enabling them to advance with vision, creativity, leadership, and commitment.

A prominent advocate for community empowerment and social change, Bishop Mack chairs the Union Community Development Corporation Board of Directors. The Union CDC offers programs that promote literacy development, academic growth, social-emotional learning, and personal development. These programs include the STEAM and READ program for students in grades K-12, the Youth Character Football League (YCFL), a family nutrition program, and the Corner-2-Corner Drug Dealers and Street Life program, which provides hope and support to individuals seeking a better life.

Bishop Mack earned a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from Elon College in Elon, N.C., a Master of Divinity from Duke University in Durham, N.C., and a Doctor of Ministry from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio. Additionally, he completed a continuing education program at Harvard University, focusing on economic development and community revitalization, where he was both a student and an invited guest preacher. He has also served as a guest lecturer and round table participant at Oxford University in Oxford, England, addressing the role of religion and education in government. Currently, Bishop Mack mentors students as an academic advisor and theological guide in the Doctoral Program at United Theological Seminary, which is dedicated to developing leadership for effective ministry in the Post-Modern Era.

Bishop Mack has traveled across three continents, with his global work beginning with international mission trips to Haiti and Israel. Known for his discernment and spiritual insight, he is regarded as a churchologist. Churches and organizations frequently seek his expertise to develop strategies and ministries that positively impact both their internal and external environments. He also provides corporate culture analysis and offers spiritual guidance in the workplace, as well as consultations on cultural awareness and diversity. He is dedicated to social justice and spearheaded efforts to address the divisive name of the Dixie Classic Fair, recognizing its historical ties to racial inequality. Through advocacy and a petition for change, it was renamed The Carolina Classic Fair, removing the symbol that had perpetuated division.

Bishop Mack is the author of several illuminating books including, Passion For Your Kingdom Purpose, Destined for Promotion, and others. His sermons and articles have been published in numerous publications including The African American Pulpit Journal. He has been a featured guest on Trinity Broadcast Network (TBN) on numerous occasions and has established his own publishing company, Sir Walter Mack Publishing.

Bishop Mack is the recipient of numerous awards and honors which include: 50 of the Most Influential People in the Triad, The Black Business Inc. North Carolina Power 100 Award, and the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Centennial Service Award. His affiliations include the National Baptist Convention, Progressive Baptist Convention, NC General Baptist State Convention, Second Harvest Food Bank, Winston-Salem State University, NC Governor’s Crime Commission, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., the Union Community Development Corporation and the Martin Luther King Jr. Board of Preachers of Morehouse College. Bishop Mack is married to Lady Kim Romaine Bush. He is a native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
