Faculty Garner Awards and Recognition
Duke Divinity School faculty have received a number of significant grants and awards in the past academic year, continuing to build on the foundation of scholarly excellence and cultural influence in service to Christ and the church that has characterized the school. With their ongoing work of teaching and formation in the classroom, preaching and lecturing in churches, publishing resources for the church and academy, and serving in programs ranging from prison ministry to community development to denominational leadership to practicing medicine and more, the faculty continue to be recognized as one of the top theological faculties in the world.

- Polly Ha, Associate Professor of the History of Christianity: The Langford Lectures, selected by the Office of the Provost of Duke University; Duke Faculty Advancement Seed Grant for the project "Hybrid Cultures and Christian Innovation"
- Stanley Hauerwas, Gilbert T. Rowe Professor Emeritus of Divinity and Law: Lifetime Achievement Award from the Society of Christian Ethics
- Norbert Wilson, Professor of Food, Economics, and Community: President of the Agricultural and Applied Economics Association and Director of the Duke World Food Policy Center at the Sanford School for Public Policy at Duke University; Duke Social Science Research Institute Grant for the project "Investigating the evolution and influences of spending patterns among low-income mothers receiving an unconditional cash transfer"
- Patrick Smith, Associate Research Professor in Theological Ethics and Bioethics and Senior Fellow at the Kenan Institute for Ethics: The Pellegrino Medal, awarded by the 2022 Healthcare Ethics and Law (HEAL) Conference at Samford University
- Farr Curlin, Josiah C. Trent Professor of Medical Humanities: 2022 Educator of the Year, from the Christian Medical and Dental Association
- Quinton Dixie, Associate Research Professor of the History of Christianity in the United States and Black Church Studies: Grant from Duke University for the "Duke Divinity School Oral History Project"
