Applications are now open for the 2019-2020 Hispanic-Latino/a (H/L) Preaching Initiative. Developed by Duke Divinity School’s Hispanic House of Studies, the Hispanic-Latino/a (H/L) Preaching Initiative provides an opportunity for H/L pastors and people involved in ministerial leadership to receive practical training for the work of ministry.
Students will take four courses during the year, two in the fall and two in the spring. In the fall, the Preaching Initiative offers Marriage and Family Pastoral Care and Theology and Ethics. In the spring, it offers Church History as well as Prophetic and Pastoral Preaching.
All of these courses will be taught in Spanish by professors who have a master’s degree or doctorate degree in the field of study, as well as practical experience in ministry. The participants will travel to the campus of Duke University for eight Saturdays in the fall and eight Saturdays in the spring. In each semester, the first class will be from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., and the second class will last from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Upon completion of the program, participants will receive an official certificate from the Hispanic House of Studies certifying their participation in The Hispanic-Latino/a Preaching Initiative of Duke Divinity School.
Iniciativa de Predicación Hispano-Latina
La solicitud de admisión para los cursos del 2019-2020 de la Iniciativa de Predicación Hispano-Latina está ya disponible. Desarrollada por La Casa de Estudios Hispanos de la Escuela de Divinidad de Duke, la Iniciativa de Predicación Hispano-Latina (H-L) ofrece una oportunidad para que los pastores, pastoras y personas que tienen algún liderazgo ministerial en sus iglesias reciban entrenamiento práctico para el trabajo del ministerio. Los estudiantes tomarán cuatro cursos durante el año, dos en el otoño y dos en la primavera. En el otoño, ofrecemos Cuidado Pastoral a Matrimonios y Familia y Teología y Principios Éticos de la Vida Cristiana. En la primavera, ofrecemos Historia de la Iglesia y Predicación Profética y Pastoral.
Todos estos cursos serán impartidos en español por profesores que tienen una maestría o un doctorado en el campo de estudio y experiencia práctica en el ministerio. Los participantes viajarán al campus de la Universidad de Duke ocho sábados en el otoño y ocho sábados en la primavera. En cada semestre, la primera clase será de 8:00 a.m. a 12:00 p.m. y la segunda clase será de 1:00 p.m. a 5:00 p.m. Al completar el programa, cada participante recibirá un certificado oficial de la Casa de Estudios Hispanos de la escuela de Divinidad de Duke certificando su participación en la Iniciativa de Predicación Hispano-Latina.
