As the Care Manager at L’Arche NC, you’ll oversee the daily operations of our community home, including training and supervising assistants, managing the house budget, and coordinating healthcare for core members. You’ll cultivate a supportive house culture, communicate with families, and occasionally provide direct support. Your strong interpersonal and organizational skills will contribute to our mission of fostering belonging and inclusion for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Position: Residential Care Manager Location: Primarily Durham, NC Job Type: Full-time Pay range: $43-$48K Job Duties: -Sharing life in a community of people with and without intellectual disabilities and facilitating the co-creation of a community life grounded in the values of L’Arche and shaped by core members and staff alike. -Training of Assistants: Develop and implement training programs for assistants to ensure the highest quality of care and support for core members tailored to their individual needs. -Managing House Budget: Responsible for managing the house budget efficiently and effectively, ensuring resources are allocated appropriately to meet the needs of core members. -Supervision of Assistants: Provide ongoing supervision, guidance, and support to assistants to maintain a positive and nurturing environment within the house. -House Culture: Foster a culture of intentional community, respect, and dignity within the house, promoting a sense of belonging for all residents. -Scheduling Assistants: Coordinate and manage schedules for assistants to ensure adequate coverage and support for core members. -Healthcare Coordination: Work closely with healthcare professionals to coordinate medical appointments, treatments, and medications for core members. -Communication with Family Support System: Maintain open and transparent communication with the family support system of core members to ensure their needs and preferences are understood and respected. -Policies and Procedures: Ensure compliance with agency policies, accreditation, and licensure standards -Part-time Direct Support Provider: As needed, provide direct support to core members to assist with activities of daily living and promote their independence and well-being. -Hospitality: Practicing L’Arche hospitality to families and friends of community members and to people who support L’Arche Contribute to the Leadership Team to drive organizational success Qualifications: -Ability to Pass Background Check: Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check. -Strong Personal Skills: Demonstrated ability in healthy communication, self-awareness, stress management, mature approach to conflict resolution, and objectivity. -Strong Organizational and Time-management Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines effectively. -Excitement for the Mission of L’Arche NC: Passionate about our mission to create a community where everyone is valued and respected.
Qualified Professional: Previous experience working with people with I/DD and or relevant education in healthcare, social work, or a related field. Willingness to remain in the role for at least two years A valid driver’s license with no recent major traffic violations such as DUI, super-speeder ticket, etc. The Qualified Professional must be one of the following: (a) holds a license, provisional license, or certificate issued by the governing board regulating a human service profession, including a registered nurse who is licensed to practice in the State of North Carolina by the North Carolina Board of Nursing who also has four years of full-time accumulated experience in mh/dd/sa with the population served; (b) a graduate of a college or university with a Masters degree in a human service field and has one year of full-time, pre- or post-graduate degree accumulated supervised mh/dd/sa experience with the population served; (c) a graduate of a college or university with a bachelor’s degree in a human service field and has two years of full-time, pre- or post-bachelor’s degree accumulated supervised mh/dd/sa experience with the population served; or (d) a graduate of a college or university with a bachelor’s degree in a field other than human services and has four years of full-time, pre- or post-bachelor’s degree accumulated supervised mh/dd/sa experience with the population served.
