Job Description:

Southside Church of Christ, located in Durham, NC, is a vibrant congregation with over 450 members. We are seeking a dedicated and organized full-time Church Administrative Assistant to join our team and support our mission. 

Key Responsibilities: 1. Support Senior Minister’s Needs: • Be prepared to meet the requests of the Senior Minister as they arise, ensuring alignment with your role and responsibilities within the church. 2. Leader Support: • Ensure that church leaders and ministry heads have access to necessary member data, resources, and information needed for effective ministry operations. 3. Phone Management: • Answer church phone calls promptly and professionally, addressing needs or redirecting to the appropriate individual or department. • Maintain a phone log for all incoming calls for follow-up or record-keeping. 4. Mail Handling: • Check and distribute incoming mail daily. • Ensure all mail is appropriately sorted and delivered to the relevant departments or individuals. • Visit the post office box at least twice a week to collect mail. 5. Operational Management: • Act as the primary point of contact and operations manager for the church’s business functions, including partnerships with external organizations such as QEI, Daycare, and PLL. 6. Communication and Correspondence: • Prepare and send regular communication to the congregation regarding church events, services, Bible studies, and activities (daily, weekly, and monthly). • Maintain communication through traditional mail, email newsletters, and other relevant channels. 7. Website Management: • Regularly update and manage the church's website, ensuring it reflects current events, services, and ministry functions. 8. Social Media Management: • Oversee the church's social media accounts, ensuring content is regularly updated with upcoming events, ministry functions, and church activities. 9. Database Management: • Maintain and manage the church’s member database, ensuring that all member records are up-to-date and complete. • Oversee the processing and integration of new member data into the church’s database (e.g., One Church database system). 10. Member Assistance: • Provide support to church members in need of assistance, particularly regarding funeral arrangements and benevolent requests. 11. Weekly Bulletin Management: • Prepare and manage the church's weekly bulletin, ensuring it is accurate, timely, and reflective of all upcoming events and announcements. 

Qualifications: • Strong organizational and communication skills. • Proficiency in office software and administrative tasks. • A heart for service and alignment with the church's values. • Must be a member of the Church of Christ or willing to become one. Schedule: • Monday through Friday (9am – 4pm), with some Saturdays and Sundays as needed.
