The Duke Youth Academy for Christian Formation is now seeking student and staff applications for its 2015 cohort.

The 2015 program will convene June 14-20, 2015 for a week of intentional Christian life on the campus of Duke University.  Following the summer residency, students and staff will continue to grow and learn together during a year-long online learning community. This new extended format was introduced in summer 2014.

The 2015 summer residency will feature lectures from the Duke Divinity School faculty including Ellen Davis, Amos Ragan Kearns Distinguished Professor of Bible and Practical Theology, and Fred Edie, associate professor of the practice of Christian education. Students will engage in workshops with local artists, activists, and athletes that explore imaginative ways of expressing faith and following God. They also will experience vibrant and diverse worship services, sustainably sourced food, and the opportunity to develop friendships with young Christians from around the country.

The online learning community will extend the conversations begun during the residency through video lectures, web meetings, and online prayer gatherings. Students also will be encouraged to develop and complete a Christian practices project in their home congregation or community.

Applications for staff positions are due on February 21. College and seminary students, pastors, lay leaders and youth pastors are encouraged to apply to work alongside the students in creating a supportive Christian community.

Student applications received by March 15 will receive priority consideration for admissions and financial aid. After March 15, applications will be considered on a rolling basis and financial aid is not guaranteed.
