Kevin Hart’s Carnets presents 600 one-line poems written over 26 years. Sometimes aphoristic, sometimes lyrical, and sometimes fragmentary, these poems touch on almost every aspect of human life, from nature to God, from pain to joy, from the sensual to the mysterious.

Hart is Jo Rae Wright University Distinguished Professor in the Divinity School. He has a secondary appointment in the Department of English. Some of his recent scholarly books include his Gilson Lectures at the Institut Catholique de Paris, L'image vulnérable: Sur l'image de Dieu chez S. Augustin (Presses Universitaires de France, 2021), and his edition, The Bible and Western Christian Literature, vol. 5 (T. and T. Clark, 2024).
