This annual gathering, which alternates between a "day apart" and a multi-day retreat, is an opportunity to celebrate the connection of elders and pastors in the Western North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church.

  • Theme

    Holy Leadership

The cultural ground on which we lead, serve, and worship is shifting. As “the way we’ve always done it” becomes increasingly ineffective, and even harmful, pastors and other church leaders are seeking and building new innovative ways of leading the people of God. This year’s Elder’s Day Apart offers the opportunity to gather with colleagues and engage with a brother whose creative missional leadership is finding a way forward through the troubled waters of our time.
