Description

The Liturgy of the Hours is an ancient prayer of the Catholic Church that strives to sanctify the day through recitation of psalms, Scripture, and hymns. Rooted in the Jewish tradition of praying at set times, it provides a structured rhythm of worship for the whole Church. The Catholic Church considers Morning Prayer (Lauds) and Evening Prayer (Vespers) the “double hinge” of this daily prayer, the two principal hours of the Divine Office. The Second Vatican Council encouraged not only clergy but also the laity to take part in this prayer, whether in community or individually. By praying in this way, the faithful bring prayer into every part of their day and sanctify all aspects of life.

With a history extending as far back as the 10th century, the Solemnity of St. Joseph on March 19 is the Catholic Church’s most significant celebration of St. Joseph, honoring his faith, obedience, and role as the guardian of Jesus and Mary—and, by extension, the entire Church.

All are welcome to join Fons Vitae for this special prayer and celebration.

This event is free and open to the public. No registration required.
