Duke Divinity School is marking the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Office of Black Church Studies with an evening celebration featuring Grammy-award winning gospel singer Yolanda Adams.

The celebration will include the premiere of a new documentary about the OBCS; a concert by Adams, who will also perform two songs with Duke Divinity’s Gospel Choir; and a special recognition of the first two Black men and women to graduate from the school.

A multi-platinum recording artist with thirteen albums, Adams' music blends modern gospel with R&B and jazz. In addition to winning five Grammy Awards, she has been named Billboard magazine’s Gospel Artist of the Decade, performed at the White House, and was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame.
