The Methodist House of Studies will host a lunch gathering event to meet Bishop Connie Shelton (Raleigh Episcopal Area of the UMC). All members of the Duke Divinity School community are welcome.
Rev. Dr. Connie Mitchell Shelton was elected as a bishop of The United Methodist Church on November 2, 2022, by the Southeastern Jurisdiction on the twelfth ballot. She was assigned to serve the Raleigh Episcopal Area (North Carolina Conference) beginning January 1, 2023.
She holds a Bachelor’s in Radio, Television, and Film from the University of Southern Mississippi, a Master’s in Public Relations from the University of Southern Mississippi, a Master of Divinity from Duke Divinity School, and a Doctor of Ministry from Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, GA.
