The Center for Reconciliation, in collaboration with its partner the Americas Initiative for Transformation and Reconciliation (AITR), is offering the first session in the second module of the Second Institute of the Americas for Transformation and Reconciliation on Jan. 27.

Module 2: On Lament

Key presenters: David Nacho (Bolivia/Canada) and Laura Alejandra León Guerrero (Colombia)

• • David Nacho is a theologian from Bolivia and an ordained minister in the Canadian Baptists of Western Canada convention. Nacho is pursuing doctoral studies at the Oxford Centre for Mission Studies. He is a member of the Latin American Theological Fellowship and a recipient of the Langham scholarships for doctoral candidates from the majority world. He served as adjunct faculty at the Baptist Theological Seminary in Cochabamba, Bolivia. Nacho teaches regularly on narrative theology, hermeneutics, and ecclesiology. He currently leads an international educational program whose aim is to inspire and lead local churches and to engage in contextual theological reflection. Nacho trains facilitators in dialogical approaches for theological reflection in several Latin American countries and in Portugal.
  • Laura Alejandra León Guerrero is an artist and theologian from Colombia. She holds a master's degree in interdisciplinary theological studies from CETI-CAREY and a master's degree in performing arts with an emphasis on contemporary dance from the Francisco José de Caldas District University, Colombia. She is a dancer in the Third Floor Dance Company and is the co-founder and primary artist of the Júbilo Artistic Collective.

All institute sessions will be conducted in Spanish, with simultaneous English and Potuguese translation available.
