The Center for Reconciliation (CFR) hosts regular meetings to foster understanding of topics related to conflict transformation, just peace, and reconciliation. CFR believes the way we engage conflict has the potential to support personal, community, and institutional transformation. Join us for an in-person conversation on Thursday, October 5, 2023, from 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the 0013 Westbrook classroom. This event is part of the CFR Conversation Series.
Our presenter is Dr. Nina Balmaceda, the associate director of the Center for Reconciliation and president of Peace and Hope International, a nonprofit that works through local organizations in Latin America to prevent and confront violence and other forms of injustice against the most vulnerable. She is a scholar-practitioner whose work focuses on civic leadership development and education for peace and reconciliation. Her talk on October 5 is titled "The Transformative Power of Restorative Justice."
