Applications are now open for Duke Youth Academy, a two-week program for high-school students that offers learning, service, worship, and fellowship in intentional Christian community on the campus of Duke University.
Duke Youth Academy, part of Leadership Education at Duke Divinity, is an intensive encounter with Christian life June 16-29, 2013. Days are patterned by worship through word and sacrament, reflection on Scripture, study, service, and play. Participants will be challenged to consider their baptismal vocation and grow in confidence that God is shaping their future in radical and exciting ways.
Rising high-school juniors and seniors from across the nation and from any denominational tradition are invited to apply. Students will need to submit an online application, two short essays, and two recommendation letters.
In addition, applications are open for staff positions with the Duke Youth Academy. Applicants must possess faith in Jesus Christ and a genuine interest in and agreement with the purpose and mission of Duke Youth Academy. They must also demonstrate a calling to the academic, social, and emotional support of youth. Applicants will complete a two-part application and an interview.
