Watts Street Baptist Church, Durham, NC seeks a ¾ time Minister with Children and Their Families...

This person will serve as a member of the team of staff ministers providing leadership to the congregation with a particular emphasis on helping the church’s children and their families deepen their relationships with God, each other, and the wider world through Christian education, spiritual development, congregational care, and action.

About Watts Street

Watts Street Baptist Church is a progressive, inclusive, ecumenical, welcoming and affirming congregation uniting prayer, learning, and social justice in the context of a vibrant community. We are located in Durham, NC, close to Duke University.

Demographics

Watts Street has nearly 500 active members, ranging in age from 12 to over 75.

In addition, we have approximately 75 children (birth through 5th grade) and 25 youth (6th through 12th grade) who attend.

Children’s Programming

Our children’s ministry programming includes:

    Sunday morning children’s church school
    Childcare during worship (for ages birth through Kindergarten)
    Worship education
    Vacation Bible School
    Children’s retreats (for grades 2 through 5)
    Children’s Sabbath
    Annual children’s picnic and other opportunities for fellowship
    Children’s Education Ministry Committee
