Camp Chaplain
Camp Daniel Boone

Camp Daniel Boone is a 76 year old resident boy scout camp in the mountains of Western North Carolina. We host 5000+ campers each summer over 7 weeks of camp. One of the 12 points of the Scout Law is A Scout Is Reverent. Camp chaplaincy as an integral part of camp staff and customer service. As we are a camp for boys, ages 11-17; the preference is for a male chaplain. The job is a live in position with housing and meals provided as part of compensation. Pay is to be determined based on age and experience. The dates are from June 3- July 28, 2018. Responsibilities include two 30-minute services (Sun evening and Wed evening), spiritual support to staff and campers as need arises, and serving as a camp commissioner providing general customer service. Our national standards require the chaplain be over 21 and complete a 3 hour training with the Camp Director. We are similar to AA in that while we absolutely support spiritual necessity in the lives of our members, we do not specify what that looks like to an individual. We have troops that are Christian, Jewish, Muslim, and other. Our website is campdanielboone.org The application is under the Staff tab.
