Lifeguards will operate the waterfront and all waterfront related activities safely, in accordance with all regulations and in a manner that is supportive and enhancing to the overall program and the camper’s experience. Lifeguards are accountable to and under the supervision of the Program Director. When not working/scheduled for waterfront, duties may include dishwashing, general grounds care and bathroom rounds, assisting with programs, evening rounds, and providing staff breaks. These duties and assignments will be determined by the Program Director on a regular basis.
The Lifeguard should be a growing Christian at least 18 years of age. The Lifeguard should posses a current certification for lifeguarding from the American Red Cross or an accepted organization equivalent. They should also be able to do some lifting and carrying. A mature outlook, a willingness and ability to be flexible, a love for children and youth, good physical stamina are also needed for success in this position.
You will need to fill out the employment application, three employment references (preferably one should be filled out by a Pastor or Youth Leader who knows you well), the criminal records check, and the DHS Clearance Form.
