St. James United Methodist Church is seeking a passionate and organized Director of Family Ministries to lead and grow our children, youth, and family ministries. This part-time role will guide programs such as Sunday morning Discipleship and United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF), while helping families deepen their faith and connection to the church.
We’re looking for someone who: Has a strong Christian faith and a love for working with children, youth, and families. Understands and supports United Methodist theology and values. Brings experience (1+ years) in ministry leadership (volunteer or paid). Communicates well, collaborates with staff and volunteers, and can manage programs with creativity and care.
Key responsibilities include: Leading UMYF and seasonal events (Trunk or Treat, Easter Egg Hunt, etc.) Developing a cohesive ministry strategy for families, children, and youth Recruiting and equipping volunteers Supporting confirmation and family engagement opportunities Coordinating communication, budgets, and Safe Sanctuaries compliance This is a meaningful opportunity to help shape faith formation in a vibrant, mission-minded church community.
