Teen Minister
North Raleigh Community Church Downtown

ABOUT NRCC DOWNTOWN NRCC Downtown is a non-traditional church, organized around two core questions: ● How can we be Christian in the new worldview emerging in Western society? ● How can we do church in a meaningful way, in this new worldview? We’ve been exploring those questions a while now. We’ve learned a lot. We hope to share what we’ve learned with a new generation of church leaders. We are looking for a teen minister, but we’re also looking to invest in an emerging leader who will shape the future of the Christian church. ABOUT THE JOB The job is “part-time teen minister.” But we’re also looking for a deep learner, willing to engage the profound change in both orthodoxy and orthopraxis required of church leaders living through the Reformation now upon us. The job will require learning the principles we have discerned for restoring relevance to both Christianity and church. It will also invite you to develop your own insights specific to teenagers. (We’ll teach you everything we know. We’ll encourage you to discern even more.) The job will require loving our teenagers, and translating the Christian tradition to them in a way that is relevant and meaningful. (There will be plenty of resources, people, support, and mentoring.) The job will require 9-10 hours a week engaging both teens and the broader community. At first, the job will be to maintain the teen program we have in place (Sundays, events). After you get your feet under you, we’ll invite you to imprint the teen program with your own vision and discernment. The job has a $500 per month stipend.
