Job Title:​​Part-time Minister of Music and Liturgy Overview of All Saints’ UMC:All Saints’ United Methodist Church (ASUMC) is a growing, active,multi-generational congregation of 275+ people, planted in 2007 in the Brier Creek area of Raleigh, North Carolina.Position Overview​:In order to be most effective in fulfilling our calling of “​gathering people into communion with Jesus Christ​,” ASUMC is seeking a faith-filled, creative, flexible and energetic Minister of Music and Liturgy to oversee and nurture the worshipping life of the congregation and the discipleship that grows from this worshipping life. This part-time position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and leading musical worship on Sunday and within other worship gatherings.This person is also responsible for recruiting,training, and leading the many musicians and worship leaders in our congregation. Musical Worship at All Saints: ’A foundational belief at All Saints’ is that liturgy is the work of the people. Each week we areoffered the opportunity to participate in the liturgy and respond as a congregation to God’s workin and through Jesus Christ with a diversity of musical expressions. All Saints’ seeks to further cultivate a musical worship that is intentional, cohesive and vibrant, drawing on music that offers theological richness, deep and diverse spirituality, and singable tunes. The community of AllSaints’ has many gifted musicians, including the members of our Music Team. This position will further cultivate their gifts as well as draw out the broader participation of our congregation. Qualifications:●Bachelor’s degree in music or equivalent●Performance skills in piano sufficient to lead worship services and rehearsals●Ability to teach and direct ensemble of singers with enthusiasm and confidence●Ability to orchestrate and arrange music for use during worship●Passion for facilitating the growth of music ministry at All Saints’ both broadly and deeply into the life of the congregation and beyond●Ability to gather and equip musicians to lead in worship●Organized with ability to prioritize time and attention●Positive attitude and excellent socialization skills●Strong desire to develop and work with a team Responsibilities:Worship Planning & Creative Visioning (40%) ~ 8 hours/week●Work with pastors and lay people to plan for worship that is beautiful, creative,thoughtful, holds theological depth and helps to grow more deeply in communion withJesus.●Select and prepare music appropriate to the liturgy and church season●Arrange for the hiring of instrumentalists as needed Leading and Teaching Music (40%) ~ 8 hours/ week●Direct the choir and accompany Sunday worship and special services●Prepare for and lead choir rehearsals (Wednesday nights)●Work with preschool, children and youth to seek ways to nurture their musical gifts and incorporate them into worshipping life of the church●Develop creative ways to establish and nurture discipleship through music Administration (20%) ~ 4 hours/week●Oversee the budget for Worship Ministries as well as the care of musical equipment and resources●Recruit, coordinate and support all liturgical ministries, including music, visual arts, audiovisual, worship servants, etc.●Collaborate and communicate with church staff Details●Part-time position (15-20 hours per week), $25 per hour●Reports to Lead Pastor●Up to 13 paid holidays, if holidays coincide with scheduled work days Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis How to Apply:Please send the following to ​sprc@allsaintsumc.org​: 1.Cover Letter 2.Resume, including three references 3.Video of candidate playing the piano and singing (two songs
