Interim Children's Ministry Coordinator

The Interim Children’s Ministry Coordinator provides support and coordination for the Children’s Ministry at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Cary, NC. The program serves children (ages 3 through 5th grade) and includes a Sunday School curriculum, weekly Children’s Chapel, Christmas Pageant, Pre-Episcopal Youth Community (Pre-EYC) Program, and various special events. This position reports directly to the Rector. This position will be interim and will continue until December 31, 2019, at which time the interim period may be extended if needed and is agreeable to the candidate, the Rector, and vestry of St. Paul’s. This position will be expected to work an average of 8-10 hours per week and should not exceed 15 hours without the immediate supervisor’s approval. This position may require working evenings and weekends. Duties and Responsibilities • In collaboration with Children’s Ministry Committee (CMC), coordinate communication with staff, families, and volunteers concerning Children’s Ministry activities • Coordinate administrative tasks for Children’s Ministry, which include, but are not limited to: o Researching, printing and copying weekly bulletins, Sunday School, and Children’s Chapel activities o Email correspondence with Sunday School teachers, volunteers, and parents o Update all CMC brochures, bulletin boards, signs, cards, etc. as needed o Prepare Narthex, Youth Wing, Chapel and Sunday School rooms as appropriate for Sunday meetings o Create newsletter articles o Prepare check requests and assist with CMC budget management o Email church visitors with follow up as needed • Coordinate Sunday morning Children’s Ministry activities, serving as liaison and support to Sunday School teachers and Children’s Chapel volunteers • Establish and post office hours and communicate to the Office Manager if there will be a deviation from those hours • Perform all duties in compliance with the HR Handbook and Policy and Procedures as outlined Working Relationships • Understanding that all interactions are ministry, the position shall clearly represent professionalism, confidentiality, sensitivity to co-workers and parishioners and emphasize respect for all persons the employee contacts • Collaborate with the clergy and staff to support the mission of St. Paul’s—To know Christ and to make Christ known—in the parish and wider community • Collaborate with all staff in planning common projects and sharing space Qualifications • High School Diploma, Bachelor’s degree preferred • Working knowledge of Word and Excel; Publisher a plus • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively, clearly, and in a timely manner • Ability to obtain and consider input from others • Organized, dedicated individual with high attention to detail • Ability to manage multiple tasks • Highly motivated self-starter For more information, please contact the Rev.
