Director of Church Communications
First UMC High Point
First UMC in High Point is looking for a part-time (18-20 hours per week) Director of Communications. The Director of Communications will serve as the primary source of communications to both the church community as well as the wider High Point community. They will partner with the pastoral and program staff as well as key congregational leaders to define communication goals and develop the overall creative look and voice for all church communications including website, social and print modalities. The position may be fulfilled remotely. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: compile and create visual and print media for all worship services; maintain website and social media accounts, collect information, create and publish weekly church email and monthly newsletter; coordinate photography of church events and maintain photo files; design and create all flyers, brochures and other publications for all church groups and events and coordinate all online functions of the church. The successful candidate will have strong written communication skills, understanding of copy writing, graphic design, layout and publishing, multifaceted computer proficiency including MS office, website design, and publishing platforms, and understanding of social media platforms and email distribution programs, Google analytics and search engine optimization and marketing. Compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications.
