Coordinator of Church Communications Orange United Methodist Church Purpose: The Coordinator of Church Communications will oversee all communications for the church, centralizing how OUMC communicates with the church and community. The Coordinator of Church Communications helps tell the story of OUMC, connecting and moving ministries from “good to excellent.” Accoutability: The Coordinator of Church Communications reports to the Lead Pastor and/or the Associate Pastor. Status: Part-time, salaried. Hours: 10-15 hours per week. The Coordinator of Church Communications is expected to attend weekly Program Staff meetings and weekly Full Staff meetings, in addition to the hours that are required to oversee all communications from OUMC. Specific Responsibilities and Duties: 1.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Maintain a high level of concentration, accuracy, and attention to detail. • Creativity and innovation, looking for new ways to effectively communicate with the congregation and community. • Maintain a strong relationship with the Pastors and staff to ensure that there is one unified message being conveyed. • Unify and align communications across ministries at OUMC, using the church's vision as a guide. • Partner with and serve ministries, meeting with them and creating communication plans to mobilize their specific audiences to respond. • Experience in ministry and a theological education is most helpful. Regular Duties • The following areas will be managed, among others responsibilities that may arise: Advertising , Sunday morning assistance including announcements and ministry efficiency , Social Media and website management, OUMC calendar maintenance • Prepare, design, and brand all mass emails that are sent out to the church, such as but not limited to the following: Wednesday announcements email, Thursday sermon preview email, Friday announcement and devotional email, Advent and Lenten devotionals, and Urgent Prayer Request emails. • Develop and maintain the OUMC sermon/worship podcast. • Design graphics that will be used for sermon previews and themes. • Design banners that will be used to communicate special events to the community. 2. Computer Skills: Graphic design, desktop publishing, Squarespace website, Mailchimp email, and ACS Realm. Conditions: 1. Desirable personality traits are as follows: dependable, creative, friendly, professional, and innovative. 2. The salary will be as agreed upon. 3. The OrangeUMC Handbook will define all other conditions for employment.
