The Wesley Foundation at Radford University is seeking a Ministry Intern LIST OF RESPONSIBILITIES: The Ministry Intern is a vital member of the ministry team that will work closely with the Director, the board, and the students. The members of this team are expected to be respectful of each other and all they encounter as they emulate and reflect the love and values of Jesus Christ. The Ministry Intern is expected to work independently to perform her/his routine duties and as the situation warrants, to take initiative in handling other duties. The nature of this job requires close contact with the Director and students. The Ministry Intern will work 30 hours per week (excluding breaks) using flexible scheduling to achieve maximum effectiveness. The Ministry Intern will work within the guidelines of these responsibilities, but will not be limited to them. The following list is a working guide; the Director and the Ministry Intern will negotiate changes as required. In consultation with the Director, the Ministry Intern will share responsibility for: • Lead two 6-8 week small group studies during each semester with students. • Assist with coordination of praise and worship on Wednesday nights and in local churches where the students are invited to lead worship. • Preparation and/or clean-up of the Wednesday night meals with student assistance • Supervise the Elementary Mentoring Program on Tuesday/Thursday afternoons • Transport students for Sunday AM worship (program) in the Wesley Foundation vehicle. • Assist with preparation and delivery of Monday devotions and lunch. • Work 2 evenings per week as the Student Assistant on duty to perform the daily responsibilities (custodial) assigned to those days. • Other duties may include coordinating mission or recreational trips and participation in District / Conference retreats. The Director and the Ministry Intern will determine on a monthly basis which activities each will be responsible for coordinating and attending. The Ministry Intern will work with the student leaders to coordinate and supervise the activities for which she/he is responsible.
