Across four Sunday services each with a Eucharistic celebration, the parish’s total average Sunday attendance is approximately 325 (membership 1265). Worship also includes services of Evensong, healing prayer liturgies, and seasonal services offered on occasion. Adult Formation takes place in three primary ways: (1) Small Groups (focused on study of Scripture, prayer, and table fellowship with 8-12 participants); (2) Adult Sunday School (lay and clergy led classes ranging from 15-140 participants); (3) Weekday Adult Classes (lay and clergy led classes ranging from 10-75 participants). 1. Worship • Overseeing the execution of all worship services • Leading and working directly with lay leadership, specifically: o Altar Guild, o traditional worship volunteers (ushers, chalice bearers, youth acolytes, vergers, prayer ministers, weekday servers), o contemporary worship volunteers (ushers, chalice bearers, lectors, etc.). • Supervising administrative staff in the production of service bulletins • Conducting worship service rehearsals as necessary • Partnering with the Director of Music and the Director of Contemporary Music in the leadership of worship services • Creating liturgies for special events as requested 2. Christian Formation • Working with the Rector to continue to build and communicate a coherent vision and strategy for making mature adult disciples of Jesus Christ at SFITF • Offering oversight and leadership to the parish Discipleship and Small Groups ministry. • Leading Adult Sunday School ministry including St. Francis 101, Confirmation class and other lay-led offerings. • Envisioning and Leading Adult Weekday Classes. Additionally, this priest will have a shared portion of the parish’s pastoral care duties leading weddings and funerals as assigned, participating in Sunday worship services, preaching as requested, and contributing to overall clergy leadership of the parish.
