Consulting faculty members are integral colleagues that enhance our curriculum and community’s experience in important ways through the teaching and mentoring of students, and through leadership of specific initiatives. Consulting faculty are non-regular-rank and non-tenure-track.
Martha Carlough, M.D. M.P.H. is a consulting professor in theology and medicine and Duke Divinity School and professor of family medicine and director of the Office of Global Health Education at UNC-Chapel Hill. Dr. Carlough has more than 30 years of experience in clinical and public aspects of maternal and child health, including a decade of work in Nepal. As a spiritual director trained in the Ignatian tradition she leads spiritual formation for the Theology, Medicine and Culture Initiative.
