In-person Online For Alumni For Students General Audience

The Methodist House of Studies is offering the UMC General Conference series in collaboration with the UMC General Conference 2024 course instructed by Bishop Ken Carter, Dr. Laceye Warner, and Dr. Sangwoo Kim. The sessions aim to provide various important topics in anticipation of the upcoming General Conference 2024 of the United Methodist Church.

The guest speaker for the second session, "General Conference and the Social Principles," is the Rev. Dr. Susan Henry-Crowe, who is the recently retired general secretary of the General Board of Church and Society of the United Methodist Church.

About the guest speaker:

The Rev. Dr. Susan Henry-Crowe is the recently retired general secretary of the General Board of Church and Society of the United Methodist Church, where she currently serves as a consultant to further strengthen the agency’s presence and witness in advance of the 2024 General Conference.

Previously, she was dean of the Chapel and Religious Life at Emory University for 22 years. She has served as an ecumenical collaborator with the World Council of Churches for more than 10 years. She also served for 16 years as a member of the United Methodist Judicial Council, where she was the first woman elected president. Henry-Crowe holds a Master of Divinity from Candler School of Theology and a Doctor of Divinity degree from Wofford College and LaGrange College.
