The Theology, Medicine, and Culture (TMC) Initiative and the Office of Ministerial Formation, both at Duke Divinity School, are sponsoring the fifth session in a seminar series titled "Who Cares? Why Pastoral Care Matters and How to Do It Well." This month, the series is joining forces with Professor Warren Kinghorn, M.D., for an important Mentoring for Ministry topic: “Pastoral Care: Suicide Prevention and Accompanying those with Suicidal Ideation.”
Instead of the usual Wednesday meeting time, the session will be held on Thurs., Feb. 21. It is open to the Duke Divinity community and counts as Mentoring for Ministry credit. No registration is required.
The "Who Cares? Why Pastoral Care Matters and How to Do It Well" series provides an introduction to counseling skills, mental health, and self-care for students planning to be pastors or church leaders. It offers practical knowledge and tools to help equip students to care for themselves and others well.
