Duke Divinity School, in partnership with CreatureKind at the University of Chester, United Kingdom, will host a webinar on the implications of the incarnation for a Christian approach to animal welfare. The conversation will focus especially on the problems posed by industrialized agriculture and how pastors can preach on behalf of the created order in an age of factory farming.
The webinar will feature Professors Jeremy Begbie, Thomas A. Langford Distinguished Professor of Theology at Duke Divinity, a senior member of Wolfson College, and an affiliated lecturer in the faculty of music at the University of Cambridge; and Richard Bauckham, professor of theological ethics at the University of Cambridge and University of St. Andrews. It will be moderated by Nathan Porter, a CreatureKind Fellow and Duke Divinity M.Div. student.
The conversation will be about 30 minutes followed by a Q&A. The event is free and open to faculty, students, clergy, and interested lay people.
Registration is required.
