Duke Divinity School will host a celebration of the 30th anniversary of its Baptist House of Studies with a series of events kicking off with a worship service featuring preaching by the Rev. Michael A. Walrond Jr., pastor of First Corinthian Baptist Church in New York City and chair of the Duke Divinity School Board of Visitors. The worship service will be followed by a public discussion on the history of Baptist House, a welcome reception, and a banquet.
The scheduled events are:
• Worship Service, 1 p.m., in Goodson Chapel, with Walrond preaching;
• "Looking Back: Conversation About 30 Years of History," 2:30 p.m., in Room 0014 of the Westbrook Building at the Divinity School;
• Welcome Reception, 5:30 p.m., at The Rickhouse, 609 Foster St., in Durham, N.C.. Parking for The Rickhouse is in the Measurements Inc. parking lot;
• And "A Celebration of 30 Years" Banquet, 6 p.m., at The Rickhouse Durham.
The worship service and discussion are open to the public, with parking available in Bryan Center Parking Deck at 125 Science Dr. Refreshments will be served between the two events.
