
More than 100 participants representing 23 states and six countries gathered at Duke Divinity School May 31 to June 5 for the school’s first Summer Institute. “Shaping the Beloved Community in a Divided World,” hosted by the Center for Reconciliation, was designed to provide a week at Duke filled with learning, Christian community, rich worship, and spiritual transformation.
Each day at Summer Institute began and ended
with prayer and worship in Goodson ChapelParticipants included Christians engaged in grassroots ministries and social agencies, congregations, pastoral leadership, global contexts of mission or social division, the university/seminary, para-church ministries, social entrepreneurship, and denominational leadership.
