N.T. Wright and Vashti McKenzie, guest speakers at the 2010 Convocation & Pastors’ School sponsored by Duke Divinity School, will preach during worship services at Duke Chapel that are open to the public.
The worship services will be held:
- Oct. 10, 11:00 a.m. to noon
Wright, one of the world’s foremost New Testament scholars and the professor of New Testament at St Andrews University in Scotland, will preach at Duke University’s Sunday morning worship service. He is also the former Bishop of Durham in the Church of England.
- Oct. 11, 5:30 p.m.
McKenzie, a bishop of the African Methodist Episcopal Church and the first woman in the more than 200 year history of the A.M.E. Church to obtain the level of Episcopal office, will preach during a public part of Convocation & Pastors’ School.
- Oct. 12, 3:15 p.m.
McKenzie will preach during a public part of Convocation & Pastors’ School
Wright also will present a public lecture, “Revelation and Christian Hope: Political Implications of the Revelation to John,” on Oct. 8 from 3:30 – 5:00 p.m. in Goodson Chapel. The lecture is being held in conjunction with the McDonald Agape Foundation’s Conference on Revelation on Oct. 7-10 at Duke Divinity School. The conference is closed to the public; registration for the 2010 Convocation & Pastors’ School also has been closed.
