The Duke Center for Reconciliation, the Divinity Women's Center, and the Divinity School Chaplain's Office will host a brown bag lunch featuring Amy Julia Becker speaking about how God used her daughter, Penny, who was born with Down syndrome, to help Becker rethink her idea of "perfection."
A graduate of Princeton University and Princeton Theological Seminary, Becker is the author of "A Good and Perfect Gift: Faith, Expectations, and a Little Girl Named Penny." The book was named one of the top religion books of 2011 by Publishers Weekly.
