The purpose of this half-time position is to coordinate communication among staff and larger congregation for worship, membership, and provide general administrative support to the senior pastor. Duties and Responsibilities: Communications, Data base management/entry, manage first time visitors and newcomers connections with pastoral staff, general administrative support to senior pastor. Competencies required: The administrative assistant needs to be personable, approachable, faithful, confidential, with strong written and oral communication skills. Competency with technology and social networking sites. Knowledge of ACS a strong plus. Must be a strong multi tanker. Education and Experience preferred: 3 years’ experience in church ministry as administrative assistant or other related position. Associates or bachelor’s degree. Familiarity with the structure of the United Methodist Church and its committees. Experience with ACS, Excel, Publisher, Microsoft Office, Constant Contact, Media Shout, Facebook, website maintenance and updates are strongly preferred.
