In March of 2017 Duke Divinity School formed its Strategic Planning Committee (SPC) and was charged by Dean Elaine A. Heath to engage the Divinity School community and its external stakeholders in deep listening about our core values, mission, and vision while attending to the changing contexts shaping the church and academy. The committee will complete its work in Fall 2018, submitting its 2020-2025 plan for approval in November.

The SPC is following the process established by Duke University in its recent planning for the university's academic strategic plan. The Divinity School process engages academics, as well as the school’s overall organization and mission, seeking input from a broad and deep range of persons inside and outside the school who have wisdom for our efforts today and tomorrow.

As the committee moves through its work, members will provide updates within these pages as well as within the “Strategic Planning Process” folder on the shared drive accessible to current faculty and staff. Community members may also provide comments for the committee throughout the process.
