First Baptist Church Hillsville is accepting resumes for the position of Pastor. FBC of Hillsville’s purpose is to provide opportunities for Christian worship and service, to propagate the gospel at home and throughout the rest of the world in cooperation with others of like faith; to practice the ordinances, doctrines, stewardship and ethics as set forth in the New Testament of our Lord Jesus Christ; to nurture its members through a program of Christian education; and in all of these matters to encourage one another to strive earnestly to glorify Christ by personal and public devotion through the leadership of His Holy Spirit.
The Pastor of FBC Hillsville will have general oversight of the church, lead the people in the study of God’s Word, preach the Gospel, and seek to engage the members in Christian service. The Pastor will be provided ample time for private devotion and study; serve as ex-officio member of all committees, departments, and organizations of the church; counsel with the Deacons and help them to serve the church effectively; conduct regular worship services of the church; administer the ordinances, and officiate at weddings and funerals; visit members and prospects; and provide counseling. The Pastor will be in charge of the welfare and oversight of the church and shall be responsible for directing the work of the paid staff.
Established in 1932, the church has a current membership of 350 with average attendance of 120. FBC Hillsville is located in the mountains of southwestern Virginia centrally located between Roanoke, VA; Bluefield, WV; and Winston-Salem, NC.
