Every other year since 2008, the Duke Clergy Health Initiative has conducted surveys of all North Carolina United Methodist clergy to assess their mental, physical and spiritual health. Participation in each wave of the study has ranged from 75-95% of clergy -- an astounding rate for a multi-year survey.

We are developing a comprehensive report of the 2014 findings, which will be available this summer. The research provides a compelling view into the state of pastors' well-being. We are using the data to collaborate with the North Carolina and Western North Carolina cabinets and conference staff, among others, and we encourage you to share it with those in your congregation.

If you would like to receive notification when the report is published, please let us know.
