Students interested in learning about Hispanic theological perspectives are invited to apply for the Hispanic Summer Program June 22-July 5, 2013.

The goal of the program is to supplement and enrich theological and ministerial education with academic courses and other activities that directly address Hispanic history, ministry, and theology. The program offers students the opportunity to take an immersive three-credit graduate course in a small-class setting and participate in a variety of community-building activities.

The location of the Hispanic Summer Program rotates between the program’s 53 sponsoring institutions, and this year takes place at Oblate School of Theology in San Antonio, Tex.

As one of the sponsoring institutions for the ecumenical program, the Divinity School can offer the program to up to 10 students for the reduced rate of $350, which includes 13 days of classes, room and board, and round-trip airfare (a value of $2,800). 

The Hispanic Summer Program also includes a mini-program for non-Hispanic faculty and administrators, called “Through Hispanic Eyes.” For four days during the regular program (June 30-July 3, 2013), up to 12 non-Hispanic faculty and administrators of sponsoring institutions will gather for dialogue, workshops, and exchanges with the entire faculty & student body of that summer’s program — sharing meals and other activities with Hispanic colleagues and the mostly Latina/o student body.
