Warner Announces Interim Leadership for AEHS

Executive Vice Dean Laceye Warner has announced the interim leadership for the Anglican Episcopal House of Studies following the departure of the founding director, Jo Bailey Wells, this month.

Ellen DavisEllen Davis, Amos Ragan Kearns Professor of Bible and Practical Theology, has agreed to serve as AEHS interim director, and Liz Dowling-Sendor will serve as the interim associate director. Davis has already assumed the duties of interim director, and will provide vision and leadership for the house, including contacts with its external constituencies. Dowling-Sendor will join AEHS later this summer and will focus on the spiritual and pastoral formation of students. Dowling-Sendor, an Episcopal priest and spiritual director who has served parishes in Durham and Chapel Hill, received her M.Div. from the Divinity School in 1998. She has assisted with small groups for AEHS and pastoral care courses.Liz Dowling-Sendor She brings to the role extensive experience leading spiritual formation groups and retreats.

"We are very grateful to both Davis and Dowling-Sendor for their commitment and passion to the ongoing mission of the AEHS and its students," said Warner.

Dean Hays appointed a search committee earlier this year to select a new director.  The committee expects to appoint a new director to begin in 2013.
